Michael Farnan, a multidisciplinary artist and educator in the Simcoe Region, coordinates Georgian College’s Visual Digital Media Arts program. His work, supported by arts councils, critically examines Canadian history, colonialism, and representations of nature using humor and parody. Farnan’s exhibitions have been featured in prominent galleries across Canada.
Jill Price is an award-winning interdisciplinary artist living and working on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe people in Barrie, Ontario. With a PhD from Queen’s and an MFA from OCADU, her research explores the histories of materials, in addition to their ecological and social impacts. Also a professionally trained educator and independent curator, Price works at the intersection of art and ethics to encourage and examine unmaking as a creative process and act of care.
Daniel Allen is a sound artist with a background in music, including a multi-record deal with Sargent House and touring with Billy Talent and the Melvins. Over 25 years, he has created experimental soundscapes, including an unofficial score for Frankenstein (1931) and most recently The Shining (1980). His latest project uses repurposed items from ReStore, reflecting his Indigenous background and commitment to sustainability.
Since childhood, drawing and creativity have been central to Bruno’s life, leading to spray painting in São Paulo in 2004 and artistic collaborations with organizations worldwide. Working with mixed media and repurposed materials, he hopes to share his vision through this project with Arts 4 Habitat.
Amy is an artist, Professor, and Coordinator in the School of Design and Visual Art at Georgian College (BFA, MFA, B.Ed). As Director of The Campus Gallery, Amy curates and writes on artists, equity, and education. Exhibiting nationally and internationally, Amy has created public art for the City of Barrie. She uses fibre to form site-specific installations that map space and place.
SWD views art as a universal language that records history and fosters social growth. For 25 years, he’s created mixed media works influenced by punk culture, using reclaimed materials to challenge societal norms. As an artist and educator, he has shared his work through exhibitions, residencies, and leading arts programs.
